Recurring Dreams

I have many recurring dreams, and many strange dreams that only happen once. I keep track of them. Here are the ones that I remember. a intricate dream of a colony ship disasterously landing on an airless planet, 100% carbon dioxide. Most of the ship has hull breaches, everyone suffocates, the botany division does not. The small group of botanists, hydroponics engineers, agriculturalists,e tc must make enough food and air using only the supplies brought for the colony. Many algae vats later, they survive. They now firmly believe that they are going to spend the rest of their lives in a sinlle plant filled warehouse. Until they see movement through the airlock window. They all reappear on earth two years later, refusing to explain in coherent terms, one formerly known as sidney insisting that he has no name. They are all obsessed with water and terrified of the sky. Sandra, a dc native, knows things she shouldn’t be able to know. The color amber found in dreams Dreamt: a world where certain snakes are sentient and magically empowered. Every very high rank person wears a snake on their shoulder as a bodyguard. These snakes are extremely rare, and due to being the only known mages are difficult to capture/force. Extremely lazy, secretive, very highly paid court mages. Most moage-drakes keep silent when human affairs are discussed. After all, they’re paid as bodyguards. One particular magesnake who works for an influential nobleman also serves as his advisor and confidant. Due to the web of noble/scholarly politics assassination attempts are common. The fashion of the day among the elite, whether they can afford a magesnake or not, is to always wear a trained snake. Most nobles rely on their mages in emergencies (trust/ paranoia) the only advisor magesnake is constantly seen whispering into their noble’s ear. Rumours fly about that duo. “Is he learning magic from that thing? Arethey plottting to overthrow us all? After enough drinks- are they lovers?’ it is difficult to earn the trust of a paranoid noble/scholar (all of them) but it is more difficult to earn the trust of a magesnake. Despire their well-known love of luxury, they are considered impossible to bribe. Demand for their service is too high. It is also well-known that magesnakes frequently help people on whims without desiring any reward. Try to abuse this as a powerful person and they’ll hex you. The uncharitable interpretation of magesnakes assume that they do these kindnesses out of boredom. Magesnakes have varying skills in life, water, and illusion. Elites with mages are always better dressed. The full power of magesnakes is unknown, because they always use minimum force, even if ordered otherwise. Magesnakes rarely follow orders exactly. Losing a magesnake is a sign of either brutishness or bad business venture, neither of which improve your status. My dream plot was that someone figured out how to use the body of a dead-of-old-age magesnake to empower an anti-magic artifact. He then proceed on a fear-driving chain f assassinations, no one knowing how he gets past the mages. He was first discovered when attacking noble-advisor duo. Noble was asleep, advisor naps in day, meditates at night, mentally working magic. Advisor notices magic stops working, high alert. Moves to hide behind noble’s pillow. Assassin comes, redies knife, is promptly bitten to bone on his wrist. It is a little known fact that while magesnake venom is weak, their bite is deeper than all other snakes. Assassin escapes. Rumours increase since most magesnakes would have been asleep, or frozen with fear, or would have run. The rest of the dream was a whodunnit of courtly intrigue featuring pampered snake bodyguards. a magician’s house being explored by a group of researchers in a steampunk world. All mirrors in the house are being watched through by a strange and cheerful young man. He takes too much interest in one of the researchers. The roots of the house reach deeper than any know, and the strange young man insists in his brief appearances that the truth they seek is deepers yet. He is lying through his teeth. There is nothing in the house worth dying for. Dreams. Working as a shasimi, kitchen help, and cutting off all of the scraps of fish I cut off. Dreams. Going to therapy as a vampire hunter. She prescribes wearing a frog plushie as a hat. Dreams. Looking through an intense leather -bound tome, immense leather -bound tome, filled with artifacts and trinkets between the pages. Dreams. A funeral attended by diplomats and spies. One of them meets another and they start an affair.
